Vanessa DeLeon Creates a Cutting Edge Kitchen with The Kitchen Design Collective™
AjMadison collaborated with award-winning designer, Vanessa DeLeon, to blend minimalism with modern design and create what she calls a “Glamalistic” aesthetic for an Edgewater home. Check out the luxury appliances used to make it happen!

That’s why we created The Kitchen Design Collective™ – an initiative with Luxe Interiors + Design aimed at celebrating and promoting excellence in kitchen design. Our collaboration is meant to spotlight local talent that have worked together with AjMadison to bring their expertly crafted kitchen designs to life.
Through our Brooklyn showroom, we had the privilege of working with Vanessa DeLeon, an award winning designer for the Italian Trade Commission, ASID & IDS entrepreneur, and television personality. Through her firm, Vanessa DeLeon Associates, she has spent more than two decades honing her art deco style to create spectacular residential, commercial, and hospitality interior designs. Working hand-in-hand with AjMadison, she transformed an Edgewater, New Jersey kitchen into an entertainment space that is beautiful, functional, and enduring.
A Comprehensive Vision with Best-In-Class Appliances
When asked to describe her approach to design, “Glamalistic” was the phrase she coined. “It combines my dual passions for minimalism and French château with my husband’s love of modern. Think 1920s meets 2030,” says DeLeon.
One look at this kitchen paints a clear picture to anyone of “Glamalistic” truly means. Bold black cabinetry adorned with copper accents perfectly blends the best of traditional and contemporary design to create a truly timeless kitchen aesthetic. “With so much chrome and gold hardware everywhere, I decided copper was the right choice for me…AjMadison, helped me build my stunning copper-accented kitchen around two key pieces: a La Cornue range with a copper hood and a built-in True refrigerator in deep black. The result is pure design perfection!” exclaims DeLeon.
La Cornue was an obvious choice for this kitchen – their rich history of French-inspired designs and varied hardware options make them a perfect fit for Vanessa’s “Glamalistic” theme. “The fact that copper is such an important part of their aesthetic and that they’re known for enduring quality, design and elegance made choosing La Cornue a no-brainer,” says DeLeon. Her 60-in. range does more than serve as an aesthetic preference – it is also a multi-functional engine of cooking prowess sporting a French top, an electric teppanyaki, and dual gas and electric ovens!
An imposing range hood canopy highlights – rather than interrupts – the timeless kitchen aesthetic thanks to its custom copper finish. The interplay between copper highlights and finishes allows the cooking area to be eye-catching without distracting from the cohesive design of the entire kitchen layout.
When asked why AjMadison was her preferred appliance partner, DeLeon states, “Knowing that I have a partner by my side who’ll share their wisdom, jump in to rectify any challenges or situations and help me achieve my dreams is what I call a perfect marriage…On a project this important, I can’t imagine working with anyone else!I also feel that being a part of the Kitchen Design Collective places both my firm and me in a greater position of respect within the industry. It is an acknowledgment of my body of work over the last 24 years and being chosen as one of the first KDC designers is a true honor!”
