Christina Simon Adds Contemporary Flair to a Colonial Home with The Kitchen Design Collective™

That’s why we created The Kitchen Design Collective™ – an initiative aimed at celebrating and promoting excellence in kitchen design. Our collaborations are meant to spotlight local talent that have worked together with AjMadison to bring their expertly crafted kitchen designs to life.

Through our DC showroom, we had the privilege of working with Christina Simon. For over a decade, Christina and her team at c|s DESIGN STUDIO LLC have created a niche working exclusively with custom home builders, architects, and remodeling contractors on large-scale projects. Working hand-in-hand with AjMadison, she lent her professional flair to a whole house transformation to evoke a more modern aesthetic for her clients relocating from Miami.

Partnering for Kitchen Perfection

Upon first glance, the entire kitchen space exudes an air of subtle simplicity, complemented by a few key contemporary appliance and hardware choices. White and charcoal drawers, cabinets, and a custom range hood canopy are intermixed throughout the space for a perfect color contrast. All of them have brass-colored handles and trims that contrast well with each finish while complementing the materials used for the sink and light fixtures. A Wolf double wall oven and pro-style rangetop cooking suite enables multi-course meal prep in no time, and a panel-ready refrigerator and freezer column set from Sub-Zero is seamlessly integrated amongst the cabinetry, granting the clients plenty of cold storage space while keeping a low-profile. Meanwhile, a glass door beverage center clearly displays a vast drink collection under the serving station, effortlessly adding a pop of color to the space using vibrant soda cans and bottles.

In fact, the muted color palette of the kitchen’s layout provides countless opportunities for colorful displays. Fruit and appetizer platters, house plants, and various home décor items can turn the kitchen island and surrounding countertops into an eye-catching entertainment space that can have its look updated at any time without expensive renovations!
