Best Small Space Appliance Brands

new image

It’s an industry myth that kitchen appliance sizes are “standard”. However, most refrigerators sold today are 36" wide, most ranges are 30" wide, and most dishwashers are 24" wide. If you’re looking for appliances to fit a small kitchen space, city apartment, finished basement, in-law apartment, guest suite, pool house, or pantry, there are a whole host of home appliances that come in smaller sizes.

Did you know that in the international appliance market, most appliances like refrigerators, washers, dryers, cooktops, ovens, and dishwashers are all 24" wide? Everything is made bigger for the US market. However, with the rise of urban living, multigenerational housing, and home rental services like Airbnb, there is more demand for small-space appliances.

Small-space appliances come in a wide variety of prices. This list will cover our favorites from the ultra-high-end to the budget-friendly. Let’s see who made our list.

1. Bosch

Bosch’s small appliance lineup doesn’t disappoint! Since Bosch is headquartered in Germany, there’s no question that Bosch has a great selection when it comes to small space solutions.

2. Sub Zero & Wolf

When you think of Wolf and Sub Zero appliances, most think of sprawling kitchens, large islands, and wine cellars. Although Wolf and Sub Zero make a large array of supersized ranges and refrigerators, they also have an attractive assortment of smaller appliances. Plus, Sub Zero is one of two American manufacturers that makes this list! I’m excited to see luxury appliance brands Wolf and Sub Zero in this market segment.

I’m most excited about the Sub Zero (IC24CI) 24-inch combination refrigerator/freezer/icemaker column, it’s pretty unique. Sub Zero is often distributed with Asko, an appliance brand with Swedish roots best known for high-end compact washers and dryers.
