- The valves need to be free of corrosion, with standard metal connections that won't need to be modified to work with the new parts

- Residential homes have circuits rated for a total of 15 amps of electricity
- Smaller air conditioning units work with a standard 125-volt/15 amp plus commonly found in most homes
- Larger air conditioning units require a 220-volt outlet. In that case, an electrician may be needed to upgrade your circuitry
- Many air conditioners require a grounded three-prong outlet
- If you are installing the air conditioner into a wall, a sleeve, which holds the air conditioner in the wall, will be needed to support the weight of the air conditioner
TIP: Experts recommend that an air conditioner run on its own circuit to avoid electrical overload.
NOTE: If you have purchased a unit with a larger BTU capacity (usually 10,000 BTUs and up), they are too dangerous to install in one piece because they are much heavier. In this case, we recommend you hire a professional to install these units, which require a slide-out chassis.
